Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio was interviewed by Premium Sport during what his now pre-match traditional interview at the Mapei Stadium.

Ausilio was asked if he was Perisic or Icardi after Spalletti compared him and Sabatini to the duo stating that: “they are both very strong but you need a Candreva who crosses the ball. It takes a team, we are a team. There are those who score, make assist but we need those who play at the back too. I don’t think that Spalletti needed to be reassured, he is doing a great job, we are always together and are always discussin football, Inter and what we can do in the future.”

The Nerazzurri Sporting Director was asked about the rumours concerning PSG’s Javier Pastore being on the way to Inter replying that: “There has never been anything that has not been appreciation and consideration for someone like him but our players are also strong, it is difficult to improve this squad, especially in January. If there is an opportunity that suits us we will do something but we don’t want to dismantle a group that has being doing great these past six months.

Ausilio was asked about the rumours floating that Cancelo wants to leave the club stating that: “today he is a starter, there has never been a problem. He has been injured, when he has returned he has had the will to demonstrate how valuable he is but there is the fact that he has teammates and the results have arrived. This does not mean that he is not a quality player. He has never stopped working in order to be ready. Today Spalletti gave him a chance, who chooses who plays.

“The same discussion applies to Joao Mario, he has had problems in the past few months. I think he was more delicate than the others, in the past few months he has been in trouble due to the work of the newspapers. Today he is here and I am convinced that he will be an important resource, he is doing well and I hope he can demonstrate this on the pitch” Ausilio stated.

In conclusion Ausilio answered questions regarding the transfer window saying: “The group comes before everything, everyone knows this, especially that the group works and is cinsisting of people who respect eachother. This force is stronger than any player, you cannot find this on the transfer market. We want to try to find something that allows us to conitnue to move forward with these players, if we find something on the transfer market that we don’t have and that doesn’t disturb the teams balance then why not bring that player in.”
