Napoli have pipped Inter to Simone Verdi after the player gave the Partenopei his blessing to a move according to Premium Sport.
Napoli are prepared to lodge a €25 million bid with Bologna to land the 25-year-old who they have offered an annual salary of €1.7 million plus a number of bonuses to.
Verdi has starred for the Rossoblu this term, appearing no less than 21 times across all competitions. The Italian international, who can play on either wing, through the middle or as a striker has scored six goals and contributed five assists, including a memorable double which saw him score two free kicks in one game with both feet.
Monday could be the decisive day where the move goes through and Verdi begins his adventure with Maurizio Sarri’s side. Inter may well have missed out on Verdi but this news will be good news for their pursuit of Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu who Napoli had also courted.

We don’t have the money to buy him and that’s already been raised by Spalletti in recent weeks.
Inter probably a better option for Verdi as Sarri isn’t one for rotation and will stick to his current front three regardless of the opposition as long as they are fit. With our issues with creativity and need for more goalscorers think he will get serious minutes right off the bat.
If his move to Naples falls through we need to offer a loan with a higher redemption clause as it would mean we have lost out on Deulofeu and can’t afford to start running after scraps as alternatives. On the otherhand if Verdi moves to Napoli that means that Deulofeu is free and hopefully we can get a deal done for him on our terms with Barcelona. Either way I would be happy. We need to stay the course and make sure we land at least one of our targets.
