Inter and Barcelona remain in talks over midfielder Rafinha and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports through his website that optimism about completing the transfer is growing.

A loan with an option to redeem the 24-year-old but the clubs are still some way apart when it comes to agreeing upon the redemption fee. Inter’s latest offer of €25 million has been deemed unsatisfactory by the Barcelona leadership who would ultimately like around €50 million. However, Di Marzio reports that the two clubs are likely to settle for around €30 million as well as bonuses on top.

Di Marzio also reports that Atletico Madrid winger Nicolas Gaitan remains an idea for the Nerazzurri club. The Argentine has fallen out of favour with Atleti manager Diego Simeone and has made just four starts all season. Should he be able to acquire the Portuguese passport that his agents have mentioned by the end of the window, it is possible that a deal could be done between Inter and Atletico and that Joao Mario could part of it.
