In the last few days, an old Nerazzurri acquaintance has been strongly linked to Inter for this market session. This old acquaintance is in fact Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic, who could return to Serie A to find more minutes, as at Real Madrid he struggles to see the field on a regular basis. However, contrary to most reports, the journalist of Libero newspaper, Fabrizio Biasin, believes it is not the Nerazzurri who are looking to snap up the Croatian midfielder. Here are Biasin’s words: “Warning: it is not Inter who wants Kovacic (there is no actual attempt to loan him in progress), Juve are looking at him as an option in June and are serious”.

Kovacic joined Inter as a very young man in January 2013, arriving from Dinamo Zagreb for €11m. The talented midfielder was then sold to Real Madrid for €31m plus bonuses in the summer of 2015, and has since been touted as Modric’s long term successor at Madrid and for the Croatian National Team.
