British newspaper The Independent reports that Inter are leading the race for Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale’s signature.

The report comes after rumours that Real are planning to re-model their attack for next season began to surface. The Welshman, who according to the report, has no interest in leaving the Spanish capital, could be sold to fund a bid for PSG superstar Neymar.

It has been a difficult season for the 28-year old. Despite a return of 14 goals and eight assists in only 32 appearances, the status of the player has changed in recent months. Although still a favourite of President Florentino Perez, the Welshman is no longer a guaranteed starter for Los Merengues.

It is hard to see huge changes in the future, as the player will continue to face competition from players such as Isco, Marco Asensio and Lucas Vasquez.

If the rumour is confirmed, it appears Inter would be the most likely destination for the player. The Nerazzurri have admired the player since his amazing hat-trick at San Siro in the Champions League in 2010-11. There was strong interest from Manchester United in the past, but the Red Devils are no longer looking to reinforce their attack following the signing of Alexis Sanchez.
