Milano-based newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport quotes a report in Portuguese outlet Record, that states that Inter are reaching out to sign Cristiano Piccini to adress their issues at right back now that Joao Cancelo most likely will not be returning.

According to the report by Record, negotiations are already in place and at an advanced stage. The alleged offer from the Nerazzurri would be €15 million plus €5 million in bonuses in order to bring the Sporting Lisbon right back to Milano.

Piccini is no stranger to Serie A as he began his career with Fiorentina until he was offloaded to La Liga’s Real Betis and is currently at Sporting Lisbon. This past season he featured 17 times for the Portuguese side.

Piccini was also a member of Italy’s U-19, U-20 and U-21 teams and is yet to make his mark at the senior level for his country. Sporting are planning to replace him with Bruno Gaspar if the transfer goes through.
