In an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb, Valentino Lazaro’s agent Max Hagmayr has spoken on his client’s decision to join Inter this past Summer and whether it was the right one.

“It was the right decision for him to join inter. Valentino wanted to move to a big club, play in the Champions League and experiencing a challenge of this magnitude. After the first meeting with Antonio Conte, everything was clear: it was the right place and the right club for him,” he started.

Next he spoke on his client’s difficulties in the early part of his Inter career.

“I was hoping for something different. He was injured two weeks during the summer, during the pre-season, in what was an important moment for him to start playing, fit into the team and understand Italian football as well as the ideas of Antonio Conte.

“He missed the first period on the field and also for this reason it was hard at the beginning, we knew that he would not have started the first weeks of the season for all these reasons. It was not easy for him at the beginning. He needs to earn his chances and I am sure he will, we just have to wait. I am sure that he will do good.”

Hagmayr was then asked if he thinks right wing back is the best place for his client.

“Yes, it is the right position. We agree with this choice because it was also our idea, to move into that role. For him and his characteristics it is a good solution. He can play on the left, in the centre or behind the strikers, the important thing is to have the opportunity to play.”

In conclusion he was asked about rumours concerning his client: ” I don’t care about the rumours.”
