Inter wing-back Achraf Hakimi has revealed that he is very happy after Inter ran out comfortable 5-2 winners over newly promoted Benevento at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito this evening.

The Summer transfer window recruit, who joined the club from Real Madrid in a €45 million deal, made his first start for the club and made an almost instant impact in it as he set up Romelu Lukaku for Inter’s first goal within 30 seconds of the game beginning.

He also grabbed his first goal for the club by scoring Inter’s fourth of the match shortly before the half time interval.

“I am very happy with the win, for the goal but above all for the win and the three points we take home, a confirmation after Fiorentina,” he explained to Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV following the match in Campania.

He then went on to speak about his goal and the celebration, which he did alongside teammates Alexis Sanchez and Lautaro Martinez: “I’m happy for the goal and for the work done as already said. The celebration? It’s a team celebration with Lautaro and Sanchez.”

He was then asked about how he has adapted to life at Inter: “I’m trying to learn what Conte asks of me as quickly as possible and to adapt to what the coach is looking for.”

In conclusion he was asked about his decision to hand a short to a young fan after the game: “I gave my shirt to a child who asked me, it is always a good thing to give joy to those who support you, especially when it comes to children.”
