Inter Milan winger Tajon Buchanan has been starving for playing time since his arrival at the club. However, his status could take a turn for the better next term.

The Nerazzurri signed the Canadian from Club Brugge in January to replace Juan Cuadrado. The latter had undergone surgery to repair his Achilles tendon at the time.

Nevertheless, the 25-year-old has yet to make his full club debut. He has only made seven appearances in Serie A thus far, all coming off the bench.

Last Saturday, he played for 21 minutes, which was his longest cameo since signing for Inter.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInter1908, Simone Inzaghi could grant Buchanan more playing time in the final three rounds of the season, beginning with tomorrow’s encounter against Frosinone at the Benito Stripe Stadium.

As the source tells it, the wingback will have the opportunity to prove his worth ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The Roman newspaper also believes that the former New England Revolution star could have a more important role to play next term.

Inter Milan Wingback Tajon Buchanan Could Be Useful On Both Flanks Next Season

This is because Inzaghi has been increasingly using Carlos Augusto as a left centre-back.

The Brazilian started the campaign as Federico Dimarco’s understudy on the wing. While he still features in this position, the former Monza star is also serving as an alternative to Alessandro Bastoni at the back.

This means that Buchanan can become Dimarco’s main replacement next season.

Moreover, Cuadrado is very likely to leave the club once his contract expires at the end of the season.

And with Denzel Dumfries also facing an uncertain future, the Canadian could also feature on the right flank next season, which is in fact his original role.
