Former Inter player Aron Winter discussed the fight for the UCL place between Inter and Lazio in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport: “Lazio have worked well for several years, Inter have had a bad year and is recovering. I must say if Inter never made the mistake of sacking Frank de Boer they would have had a great team in a matter of 2- 3 years, Frank could not build, but Inter, such as Lazio, is a great club and I am sure of one thing: The setup of the backroom in a big Italian club [like Inter] and the thoughts of a Dutch coach can produce success. The attention to detail and the result with the taste of the game would be a perfect cocktail, but it always takes time to get things working. Time is for everyone, not just young talent.”
