19.47: SempreInter.com welcomes you to a city that all dayhas been drenched in the beautiful Lombardese sun as well as covered in lightblue and white but above all darkblue and black. The atmosphere here is electric as both  sets of fans have been chanting and singing for well over an hour. Tonights game features 2 teams who need a win to save their season; while Claudio Ranieri’s men managed to win away to Chievo last weekend, Marseille have had a horrible spell losing 4 straight matches in the French Ligue 1. Tonight we will bring you all the action in form of live commentary from San Siro as it occurs. So sitback and enjoy tonight thriller with us at SempreInter.com. Benvenuti a Meazza!

19.49: Tonights starting line-up is as follows:

Inter form a 4-3-1-2, with JC; Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, JZ; Poli, Stankovic, Cambiasso; Sneijder; Milito, Forlan.

Marseille play their 4-2-3-1; Mandanda; Azpilicueta, N’Koulou, Diawara, Morel; Diarra, Mbia; Amalfitano, Valbuena, Ayew; Remy

20.29: The players have been warming up for quite a while now and the speakers are pumping Dean Martins classic Thats Amore. Just spoke to our colleagues at Fcinternews.it, Domenico Fabriccini and Fabio Constantino who belive in a win but where Domenico believes in a 2-0 win, Fabio is somewhat more of a cynic like yours truly and believes in a 2-1 victory which in effect is completely pointless.

20.41: The Meazza is pretty much packed to capacity and the atmosphere is unbelievable. Above you can see some pictures from some happy children as well as Inter players warming up.

1′: We have kick-off. Inter start things and play from right to left.

5: Marseille almost have a clear one-on-one with Cesar but Nagatomo clears.

9′: Sneijder almost makes it 1-0 but has his shot blocked by Milito.

11′ Almost entirely Inter right now as Maicons brilliant cross and Milito’s finish is saved by Mandanda.

15′: Inter look really up for this but a slight cloud on teh black and blue sky is that Lucio but above all Samuel look shaky at the back.

20′: Inter keep giving away to many freekicks around Julio Cesars penalty area…

25′: Like now for instance but Marseille have lacked the quality in the crosses to punish Inter….but as we know from the match at Stade Velodrome they only ned to get it right once.

29′: Curva Nord asks UEFA tp stop the massacre of dogs (???)….whilst getting more and more agitated with all the freekicks given in favour of Marseille….Above our photographer Thomas Salme has caught the Wall, Walter Samuel, climbing on top of yet another Marseille player. All photographs are taken exclusively for SempreInter.com by Thomas Salme.

39′: The intenstity from the first half-hour has died down. Both teams are locked in a midfield battle but where Inter look more dangerous on the counter attack.

44′: The 4th official signals for 2 mins to be added on.

47′: The first half comes to an end.

First half analysis: Marseille seem to control thing for the first 5 minutes but the Inter and Sneijder start to attack and find space and the dutch number 10 delivers one through ball after another first to Maicon who finds Milito who bodychecks the ball to Mandanda. Just before that Sneijder has a free range shot from the penaltyspot but managed to hit Mandanda instead of the back of the net. After that it turned into a midfield battle where neither team came to any chances.

46′: The second half kicks off and neither team have made any substitutions. Immediately Samuel concedes a corner which comes to nothing but where Marseille keep the ball.

51:’ Marseille keep possession without coming to any clear cut chances. Inter on the other hand have difficulty establishing pressure and seem to rely on counter attacks entirely to shake Marseille.

59:’ Sneijder and Forlán out, Pazzini and Obi in. Inter transform to 4-4-2. The 2 subs combine to give Inter a corner.

67:’ Poli is more and more involved in nthe game since Sneijder was subbed. He also wins the freekick which Stankovic blasts out. Steve Mandanda is bokked for time-wasting…

75:’ Cambiasso is brought on for Poli and the San Siro give him a standing ovation. The following corner results in Milito finally breaking the deadlock and making it 1-0 after pazzini AGAIN misses open goal. COME-ON!!

87:’ Cambiasso almost scores a goal after Lucio’s cross found him in the penalty area, but he heads over. Marseille bring on Brandao for Remy.

89:’ The 4th offical signals that there will be 3 of added time.

91:e Marseille equalise through Brandoa after a defensive lapse

92:e’ PENALTY FOR INTER! Mandanda brings Milito down and is sent off.

93:’ Pazzini scores but the ref blows the final whistle, and Inter win but are knocked out….

Final thoughts: Inter aren’t any better than this this season. Thats why Inter wont play the quarterfinals of teh Champions League. How long will Ranieri stay? I’m off to the pressconference to find out.
