After yesterday’s Europa League fixture between Inter and FC Neftci Baku which ended in a 2-2 draw, SempreInter.com caught´up exclusively with Inter legend and current Team-manager Ivan Cordoba:

What are your thoughts on tonights game?

I think that it was an entertaining match for the few spectators that were here but most importantly we approched this match which maybe beforehand wasn’t so important in a very good way, we got to see an Inter with several young players who were lead by players with great experience such as Cambiasso, Samuel, Jonathan, Pereira. It’s a shame we weren’t able to win the match, I feel sorry for the lads because I think we deserved to win this match.”

If we disregard Marko Livaja, who do you think was the most impressive youth-team player in tonight’s fixture?

“I think that Benassi showed today that his performance last time wasn’t a one-time occurence but he confirmed his high level of skill in tonights game. Also the others played very well but he showed that theteam can count on him in moments like these, also the others showed that they are ready to help the team when needed and that’s why I think it’s a shame that we were’nt able to go home with the best result which also had been the most fair result.”

Now for Napoli….

“Yes now it’s time to face Napoli which will be a wonderful fixture but we are ready to face this challenge and Inter looks forward these types of games.”

Do you think the match on Sunday will be decisive in the race for the Scudetto?

“No absolutely not, it’s still a long way to go, it’s a very important match just like all the others but I don’t think that these particular match will be decisive for the Scudetto or anything along those lines.”
