Nuri Sahin and Lewis Holtby are the names for the midfield that Inter are lining up should the clubs bid for Frank Lampard fail, according to Tuttosport. According to German media, Holtby has declared that he has no intentions of extending his contract with Schalke when his current contract expires in June which has lead the german club to seriously consider selling him in January. Inter are cited as being interested in the player together with Tottenham and Arsenal who remain the favourites to land the player given the Holtby’s British heritage.
German SportBild claim however that Inter have already contacted Schalke 04 general manager Horst Heldt to conclude the deal as soon as possible. The players wage demands are believed to be around 2 million € per season, a sum which lay perfectly in line with Inter’s new wage expenditure policy.
