Stramaccioni spoke to Sky after the game, a bitter tone from the frustrated Inter-coach.

“We got back out on the pitch after the interval, lucky not to have conceded a goal against Bologna when they deserved it. Then they once again found the chance to score and they took it. We were also close to equalize, but for sure this is not a good time. There are still 10 games left. Other teams have had problems aswell, se we still believe in ourselves and that we can recover.”

“Alvarez, who was hurt in training today, was in the same group that had done well in Catania, where we won by 3 goals, but today there is nothing particularly successful in the first half. You should always evaluate the condition of the team, we lost so many players because of injuries and we had no replacement at the top left so I could only deploy Benassi, It didn’t go very well. In the second half we had a more offensive attitude and Bologna punished us for it.”

“I’ve definitely made mistakes, but I thank the President for he has good words for me but I would like to thank him with results on the pitch. There is still time left and it is better to review at the end of the season. Obviously we are all sad and angry, that is normal, but everything can still be done. And on Thursday I will have to make other difficult choices because we have to assess the condition of the players in a game that we want to honor. ”

Andrea Stramaccioni also spoke to Mediaset Premium:

“In the first half we didn’t manage to do anything that we wanted, mostly because of Bologna but also because of ourselves. The football is strange sometimes because theyd erved a goal in the first half but didn’t manage to score but instead scored in the second half when they didn’t deserve to score. In the end we were unable to force an equalizer. Cassano? He played 90 minutes in London, I decided to play him and Palacio like this. We only have two strikers and we have to use them in the best way possible. Palacio was also in danger of a suspension and he played the whole match staying clear from any yellow cards. Luckily we have both for the upcoming match.”

Then the discussion focused on changes in teh line-up:

“The changes made between the team that played in the Europa League and the team that played tonight show that some players can’t play in Europe. Today’s line-up in the second half was exactly the sam as the one in Catania with the difference that benassi played instead of Alvarez. If Ricky hadn’t injured himself in the final training session then we would have had the exact same 11 players which scored 3 goals at Catania. It’s normal to lose continuity when playing every 3 days. Some players perform miracles when they play, this is an unfortunately unlucky season and today we were missing 11 players. If today ahd been the final match of the season I would have played with Alvarez but I chose not to risk him because we’re playing Tottenham on Thursday and we’ve still got 10 matches left in the league.”
