It was Alvaro Pereira’s cross which assisted Rodrigo Palacio in scoring his and Inter’s first goal today against Sampdoria towards the end of teh first half. The Uruguay international was interviewed by Sky Sport 24 after the game: “If Palacio made a mistake after mt cross? Well, I certainly didn’t say anything to him [laughs]. We scored at precisely the right moment in the game, the team played very intelligently. Palacio is in great shape at the minute, we only hope this continues.”

“Champions? We have to take it one match at a time, we were forced to win today after the loss against Juve. But now I’m already looking ahead to the match against Atalanta. We believe in the work we’re putting down and we know that we have to wait for the others to slip-up. Right now we just have to win and take it one match at a time.”

Moments later he was interviewed by Premium Calcio in the mixed zone: “I think that we started the game off really well, then it’s normal that Sampdoria worked their way back into the match. But we took our chance when it presented itself and played a really good game. Palacio? He is really in form at the minute and is having a marvelous season, we just have to hope he will continue like this. My cross? Well, we’ll have to hope that both me and the rest of the team continue like this” Pereira concluded.
