Former Sampdoria midfielder Gennaro Delvechio was interviewed by SampdoriaNews.net regarding Inter’s latest transfer Mauro Icardi: “If you look at what he’s achieved this year and take his low age into account, I can say that he will only improve. If he should continue and grow this way then I think that Inter have made a very good deal but if he during the coming years, which i hope doesn’t happen, it were to show that he doesn’t improve then Sampdoria have made the better deal.”

“If I look at what he’s shown so far I can’t imagine that he won’t improve. The way things stand today I think that Sampdoria have made a better deal but if you were to look forward and he were to develop like this then Inter have made the better deal.”
