Transferexpert Gianluca Di Marzio reveals that Sampdoria’s Andrea Poli will shortly sign for AC Milan. Yesterday representatives for both clubs met and ironed out the last details which see the player being co-owned between the two clubs. Salamon will join Sampdoria as part of the deal but should he decline, two other Milan youngsters will go to Sampdoria as payment.

I think you are mistaken Ali. I think Strama would have liked to have kept Poli, I remember him saying something like Poli being a player who suited his tactical system. I think it was Moratti and his transfer team who declined to take the option for Poli as they believed it was too much. Mudingayi was bought in as a very cheap alternative.
I agree with you Sam. Stramaccioni spoke highly of Poli and I don’t think he had any input in the decision to let him return to Sampdoria.
What a sad day :). This is the one thing I hated about strama. Why prefer mudingay over Poli?! His performance was great !! I still can’t digest it.
