Last night, Gazzetta della Sport dropped the bomb on the Inter-world. Erick Thorir will buy 75% of Inter. Not yet confirmed from Inter or Thorir, but it seems more and more likely that Massimo Moratti will sell his ownership of Inter. Some people embraces these news with a warm welcome, other fear for what might happen now. I’m far away from happy.

A wise man said that Inter should be owned by a Moratti, a Facchetti or a Zanetti. I’m sticking to that cause. Of course, Thorir’s money can buy a whole lot of good player, but I’m sure, that’s not with it is all about. Inter is not the top of the world and I have come to peace with that. Totally cool with the fact that Inter can’t make the big signings or win the league or the Champions League every year. I can accept all that, because Inter stands for a struggle and tradition and a culture which can’t be described in any other words than “Inter”. I would never come to peace with Inter losing her soul and becoming like PSG or Manchester City.

Maybe, it won’t be like that with Erick Thorir as owner of Inter, but there is a chance. Maybe, he does know all of Inter’s tradtitions and morals. Maybe. But with the Moratti-family in charge we all know that traditions stays and the Inter-culture keeps matching on. Even there, it’s not flawless. Take last year’s red jersey as an example. Massimo Moratti got criticized very hard for that. Who knows? Thorir might scrap the black and blue-shirts and go for an all red jersey. He probably won’t, but he has the power to do that, if this sale becomes reality. And for what? Money.

Not long ago, a friend invited me to this sale-event for some energy-drink. We listened to a very talented speak from the US called Todd (I’ve forgotten his last name) who held the audience glued to their chairs, dreaming about money. However, Todd seemed to be under the influence that money equals happiness and success. I don’t stand behind that. He told us how he done this and that and became a multi-millionaire and if we, the audience, would invest in this energy-drink, we would be millionaires as well. I would not even invest two fluffy turds, does that mean I’m looking at a million dollars on the table saying; “Nah, I’m good”…?
Of course not, but I’ve never dreamed about selling energy-drinks. I’d love to be a millionaire, but the money is secondary. Life is too short to sell energy-drinks. I would rather spend my mind, power and time on writing for you than try to force you to buy “the next Redbull”. Because Inter and SempreInter is something that I believe in and I am proud to be a part of this movement, even if it does not pay off. Do good things with good people, that’s my way of life. To “American History X”-stomp a can of energy-drink with aloe vera, 37 vitamins, fyton, kolinklorid and kokosnestklorid down somebody’s throat, was never part of my dreams.

I see Inter the same way. I don’t follow Inter because they have the best players or because they always win. You stand behind Inter because of what the club stands for. We are all brothers around the world. The loyalty from bandiere like Facchetti, Zanetti or Materazzi. Massimo Moratti is an Inter-bandiera. It is man who’s family’s life has been given to Inter and he is the strongest frontfigure for the entire Inter as a brand. I’m fine with Juventus winning the league-title this season. I’m okey with Inter going twenty, thirty, forty years without winning the Champions League. I want my (entirely theoretical) kids to love Inter for the same reasons I love Inter. I don’t want my darling in the hands of Erick Thorir. Thorir is wrong man in the wrong place. He is not more than fat wallet with legs in the Inter-fans eyes. So, to summarize all this, I would like to finish with a quote from Tony Soprano in the HBO-success “The Sopranos”.

“This is what it’s all about right, motherfucking, cocksucking, money!?!?”
