Daniele De Rossi: “The first time I spoke with Rudi Garcia…”

Daniele De Rossi gave a very openhearted interview with Sky Sport 24 about his relationship with Roma’s newly appointed French coach Rudi Garcia.

“The first time I spoke with him was over the telephone when I was still away on holiday resting. Even back then he was very accessible and I thought and felt that he regarded me as his player whilst the whole world was saying the exact opposite, and which later turned out to be false. But if you read the newspapers during these days I was rumoured to be in all sorts of exotic cities to sign whatever contract I was allegedly offered. Meanwhile Garcia treated me like his own player. He treated me like a player which was to stay with him, which is exactly what happened.”

“Beside the fact that he was very approachable I really enjoyed the sense of belonging which he made me feel. He spoke immediately of how we were going to work and about the prospects of how we were going to make this year together as good as possible” De Rossi concludes.
