Samir Handanovic spoke to Sky Sport Italia about the victory in Udine and the satisfaction of having kept a clean sheet against his ex-team:
“It’s true, I was a bit worried about the game. It’s tough to play Udinese in their stadium, but we did well on Sunday and showed we’re making progress. Our play managed to keep them on their back foot. In our first few matches we only let in one goal because we were more defensive but also a bit timid, so it was hard to judge us at that point. Then we gained a bit of confidence and improved.”

“We looked a bit scared on the pitch? That wasn’t fear. Just a bit of tension. We were maybe a bit more defensive, but now we’ve improved in other areas. However, we need to regain that defensive solidity.”

Regarding the absence of Hugo Campagnaro and Inter’s upcoming challenges: “We have a big squad. It’s no surprise to anyone that Hugo is an excellent player. Have Inter recovered from last season? I believe in what I see, and we’re improving. But now we have to start focusing on Livorno, a dangerous team, and forget about the result against Udinese.”

“This season is an interesting one with a lot of balance at both ends of the table. Our schedule is getting easier? It depends on how you face the matches. And in football you never know, since games can be decided by individual incidents. What we need to do is keep up this attitude.”
