Cambiasso 650

Esteban Cambiasso was interviewed by Inter Channel after tonight’s loss against Napoli and SempreInter.com gives you the entire interview.

You have to feel a lot of regret after a match where we played well and where we at least deserved a draw.

“It was a match which we interpreted will, but if you make mistakes against Napoli they will punish you but I think that initially everything that we didn’t want to happen happened. In a way everything went their way, including the mistakes of others…”

It’s never easy to play in Naples but mentally it seemed as though you were in control despite playing with 10 men and trailing 3-2.

“Yes this is true. We wanted to be the protagonists. Sure, we feel some remorse, we will have to move on with a loss that hurts us. But there are positive aspects, today we were angry because we wanted to give a performace which was better than the one we’ve given these past few matches. The performace was there, so therefore there is regret.”

Now it’s time for the derby, a pretty important fixture. How do you prepare for such a match?

“The first thing that comes to mind is that we will have to prepare for this match with one man missing. Because Ricky’s red card effected this match but also the derby and we know what this means to an Inter player or an Inter-supporter. It’s a special match, we hope to get the 3 points because winning a derby is special. Unfortunately, due to a pseudo-hands call we lose Ricky, who is an important player. But we are used to these things.”

What did you tell the referee after the sending off?

“I don’t know what I said, I have a hard time understanding why he did what he did, not what he said. Unfortunately it seems that as soon as he sees us he’s unlucky, because I remember Inter – Juve, the handcuff-gesture, Inter – Roma, today’s match. I have this feeling that whenever he is to officiate us he’s always unlucky. The penalty on Palacio? It’s pointless for us to even practise on penalties. Even if three players were to kick one of our players in the face we would still not get a penalty.”
