I would say WM must change his formation. Why? Because (3 defenders + 2 full backs) really does not work. Indeed, WM plays 5 defenders, but both Jonathan and Nagatomo are not be able to fulfill solid defensive and attacking roles. They are not like Lichtsteiner or Asamoah or Zuniga who are both good in defense and attack. That’s why Inter’s attack has been not strong enough and also defense has been weak. That’s why a lot burden is only for Ranocchia and Campagnaro. WM should try 4-3-2-1 formation against AC Milan: GK HANDANOVIC, Right back ANDREOLLI, Center back 1 RANOCCHIA, Center back 2 CAMPAGNARO, Left back JUAN JESUS. Right MF TAIDER, Holding MF CAMBIASSO, Left MF JANETTI, Right wing PALACIO, Left wing KOVACIC, Central striker ICARDI. This fills the gap in defense and maintain solidity in midfield as well as strengthen attack. Palacio will really do if he plays in second striker position rather than single striker position. Kovacic and Palacio can playmake and read the game well together and provide a lot of good passes to Icardi or they can score themselves. It’s time now to play Kovacic in attacking role. Maybe you wonder why Andreolli in right back position? Yes, can play in that position too. What I am really sure is Andreolli-Ranocchia-Campagnaro-Juan Jesus will rock Inter’s defense if they play together in 4-defender formation! It’s time to move on now. Otherwise, WM’s 3-5-1-1 formation will continuously kill Inter!!! FORZA INTER!

The problems still remain in the defensive side,either on midfield or defend,what happening right now is that we only have cambiasso capable as DM,i cant imagine how if he injured/unavailable some time…i hope dont…..just an opinion,guys,do you think our inter unable play well with 3-defender scheme? The problem with our defense is the lack of focus and bad attitude, also a better understanding about what is 3 backs system all about. Rolando and Camp is a better performer with this, Andreolli also get used to it in chievo even though WM didn’t use him (don’t know why.. lol) Juan & Ranocchia are two sided blade being not effective. We should buy a good CB whom can play well with WM’s 3 back system. (We’re stuck to it unless he’s fired..)
Why not move cambiasso to the back and get some stability…..it worked last year and he did a good job to….

Samuel is not physically fit to play an entire game, as proven on multiple occasions this season. This means that it has to be his last season playing for the club, either he retires and maybe remains in another function, or he leaves to play for another club for the remainder of his career. He is a legend, but his time is over.
As for Cambiasso, Mazzarri obviously needs him in midfield, as he has been the most used player this season. He is doing a fine job in providing some stability in the build up and in the defensive phase, while the problem remains the fact that Inter lack a supporting striker up front, which means that midfielders have to push up higher in order for goals to be scored. This leaves the defense exposed by the midfielders who need to focus more on their defensive duties, which leads to conceding goals. If Cambiasso moves to defense, imagine a midfield trio of Taider/Alvarez/Kovacic, we would concede even more than we do now. The problem of the team is the fact that they are imbalanced. For example, Ricky and Kovacic cannot play together, it leaves the team lacking physicality in midfield (this is a huge problem to start with, as both are great players). Either Mazzarri changes his formation and tries a new system in 2014, or we face the fact that Kovacic or Ricky have to be sold, since neither of them will put up with sitting on the bench all season long. Neither of them deserves that treatment.

Yes its true that Ricky and Kovacic maybe good only for offense without good abilities on defense. But that’s maybe the reason why WM insist on playing both of them as holding mf in front of Cambiasso, to train their defense action. On the contrary maybe that’s the reason too why WM insist to play Guarin as an SS, because he want him to revoke his offensive side (but WM failed!) As for Taider, he’s not like Ricky and Kovacic, he’s more like Guarin, had better skill on defense, not so good on offense IMO. Holding mf is his best position atm.
And because of Ricky and Kovacic is unbalanced that’s why WM put Taider as Ricky’s partner to stabilize it a bit, too bad its a dilemma too for leaving Kovacic as a waste. Now that Guarin is gone, its more easy now, as for milan this week its still Guarin as an SS, but when he’s gone Alvarez can play his Role. Kovacic can duet with Zanetti or Taider as CM. Why should we sell Ricky or Kovacic when they both are consider better than Kaka and Pirlo? They lack only experience, just like Pogba played alongside Pirlo to learn, same thing goes to Kovacic alongside Cambiasso, in 2-3 years we’ll have new Pirlo and Kaka on our team, only Better!
As for DM, easy solution is actually Olsen, he is one of european jewels that known to play DMF so good, but again WM is not popular with youth.. We might use the money from Guarin for Nainggolan.
