1.  “Ti te dominet Milan”.  In Stramaccioni’s first derby 2011/2012 I was a part of the Curva Nord derby that I rank as the most beautiful. Standing in the CN you can’t actually see what you are a part of creating for the rest of the stadium to enjoy, but leaving San Siro I was overwhelmed. Before the tifo was exposed the leaders in the Curva had given everyone very clear instructions on how to make it perfect. Some guys had worked with it for a very long time and you wouldn’t want that to be in vain. The tifo shows the little madonna on the top of Duomo church in Milan. The madonna is mentioned in the song “O mia bella madunina”, which is an anthem for the city of Milan. In the song the madonna is said to dominate Milan(ti te dominet Milan). The black and blue background, that surrounds the city symbols of Milan makes the message clear: The madunina is black and blue, and dominates Milan.

2. Il Biscione e la Curva Nord. In the decisive CL-semifinal derby the season 2002/2003 the Curva Nord created an absolutely amazing tifo. A gigantic black and blue snake with the text “Creò l’inferno ma non lo supportò. Nacque il Biscione e la Curva Nord”, surrounded by firecrackers covered the northern Curva of the San Siro. The text refers to the history of the club and means: “I created hell but I don’t support it, Therefore Il Biscione and the Curva Nord was created.” A clear referral to what happened when the founders from Inter broke loose from Milan(hell) because they didn’t support their ideas. The snake, “Il Biscione” is one of the city emblems of Milan. The game finished 1-1 and Milan made it to the CL-final on away goals.

3. 3-1, 3-2, 3-3. It’s not hard to understand what this Tifo is about. Together with the chant: “Perchè perchè, tu vincevi tre a zero, alla coppa ci credevi per davvero, perchè? Perchè, tre a uno, tre a due, tre a tre.” which means “Why, why. You were leading with 3-0, and you really thought you were gonna win it, why why? 3-1, 3-2, 3-3.” Those who know their CL-history directly understands that the chant and the tifo refers to Milan’s CL-final loss against Liverpool in Istanbul 2005. The rossoneri were up 3-0 in halftime but when the game was finished they had lost it on penalties to the great joy of the Interisti. The blonde goalkeeping clown is supposed to be Jerzy Dudek who taunted the rossoneri before every penalty. The special thing with this derby is that is sums up the relationship of the two supporter sets” When Inter won the game with 3-2 after a last minute goal from Adriano, many Inter supporters started to hope that the tough times were about to end. Some reports claim that the sound level in the stadium when Adriano won it in the 90th minute were at a record high.

4. La tripletta viene per te. The season after the treble and the first derby as a Milanista for Zlatan Ibrahimovic was played at the beginning of the season. It was the right occasion for the Curva to make everyone remember who had written history and became the first team winning the treble, something that noone had succeeded in doing before Inter. Between the Curve, there was a war of chants going on with Milan singing “You’ll never win”, a scudetto or a Champions League title. And this was the perfect occasion for the Curva to shove the treble up in the faces of their rivals. A mighty tifo with the character Fredy Kruger from  the series “A nightmare on Elm street” and the text: “1,2,3 the treble comes to me” symbolized the fact that the worst nightmare of the Curva Sud had became reality. Zlatan decided the goal in the favor of Milan with an early penalty goal.

5. The double-tifo. When Claduio Ranieri had taken over as the Inter coach, Curva Nord had created a great double-tifo. 5,4,3,2,1 CAMBIO(change) was roared from the Curva leaders as they switched between the two different Tifo’s. On the first it read: “Ultras”, on the second “Milano”, together with a short banner that stated: “A story of love for her”(Inter). With perfect precision the Curva Nord showed the rest of the stadiums two different tifo’s in one and created something very original and special. Inter won the game with 0-1 after a goal from Diego Milito.

Challenger: Il cuore della nord batte dentro di te. A perfect Tifo that symbolized the club emblem. Together with the banner”The heart of the Nord beats inside of you”. A powerful love message to the players and the team of their hearts. The game finished 2-0 after goals from Stankovic and Adriano .
