SkySports reports earlier tonight that Paolo Cannavaro and the rumors around him is of more substance than earlier expected. Although the arrival of the Italian central defender depends on Inter’s international defender Andrea Ranocchia. Ranocchia has caught the eye of Chelsea and Napoli and if an offer would land on Inter’s table Ranocchia would leave then Inter would replace him with Paolo Cannavaro.

I’m not branca fans,but what is going on all about mazzari’s tactics,its almost impossibble watch inter play using another formation rather than 3-5-2,thats why mazzari wants paolo,one of defender that well played with mazzari’s formation,from what had happened,rano is good,but he cant fit with 3-defs system because it needs high alertness in marking larger area instead of 4-defs system,maybe rano can play better with this formation in the future,but one thing for sure,do we have that time with our condition right now? God…personally,i dont like this 3-defs system….

It’s a simple 3-5-2, not “Mazzarri’s system”. There are enough defenders in the world who can fit in to a 3-5-2 without falling asleep or making silly back leg challenges like Ranocchia. Cannavaro’s age and the fact that he has not played basically all year does matter. If it didn’t he would have more than us (Inter) and bottom of the table teams trying to sign him since he is clearly surplus to requirements in Napoli. Mazzarri has called this year zero, so we should be finding suitable replacements for poor performing players now, rather than replacing an old defender with a youg one in two years down the line when we should be challenging for the scudetto again.
Its not about how many times did Cannavaro played or his age, its about players who’s comfort with Mazzari’s 3 defender style, Camp and Rolando proves it. How old is Camp? About the same age with Paolo, and to be honest how many people are doubt about him at first? (Including me in the beginning). And don’t forget Rolando, how many times did he played for napoli last season? Yet he’s Inter main defender right now putting Ranocchia away. Players who can understand Mazzari system so well are perfect for our short term target to reach UCL spot. And don’t worry its not Paolo who replaced Ranocchia, its Rolando who replaced him since these days! Paolo will replaced Samuel. Gave him short 1-2 years contract, meanwhile we can develop better young defender who’s better more than Ranocchia, he just doesn’t worth it (you want italian defender? Andreolli should ask for a chance i think) Also selling him means we can have more money to go into the market to buy other players we need.

The guy is 32. Why would we replace a 25 year old Italian international (fringe), with a 32 year old who has not played all season? Why don’t we just do like last year a sell kovacic like we did coutinho for no good reason. We can do better than Cannavaro! What do Branca and Ausilio actually do?
