The former Inter player Alessandro Altobelli talked to Itasportpress about a potential move for Zanetti to Chelsea who reportedly have courted him:
“I no longer believe in such a scenario. Zanetti is an Inter banderia and I have trouble seeing him in another club. If I were him I would, before I go to Chelsea, evaluate the proposals that actually could come from Inter. He hasn’t played much this year but Zanetti is a true champion and an athlete knows that he is not yet in top shape after the serious injury and if Mazzarri only has let him play one match, he has had his reasons. I’m sure the former Napoli coach doesn’t want to set aside the Inter captain. To Zanetti I want to send a message, or rather two: ‘Dear Javier, help Inter and then wait for Thohir’s proposal to arrive before you decide to leave’.”
