A lot of things to go through tonight after a goalless draw at the Olimpico between Roma and Inter. We take one point with us from Rome, with a chance to fall down to sixth place, should Hellas Verona beat Bologna tomorrow. But all in all, I’m happy with the result and I’m happy with Inter’s performance.
First of all, I hate to be negative and carry these feelings of rage and frustration, but Daniele De Rossi surely puts my reggae-state of mind to the test. I really despise him as a player and it just gets worse and worse with each game, so from now on, I think we should all start to use the term “De Rossi” as a synonym for something that’s really really repulsing.
“Hey, John, How are you?”
“Oh it’s really De Rossi, I’ve had stomach flu all weekend.”
Mauro Icardi, however is from now on a synonym for something that’s really great. His performance today against Roma proves, even without him scoring, what a great striker he is and what amazing potential paying rent for housing in his body. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m feeling these Crespo vibes and for me, that’s one of the best strikers I’ve seen in an Inter-jersey. So, “Icardi” is now a synonym for “amazing.”
“Hey, Jane. How was last night?”
“I had an orgasm like never before, It was totally Icardi!”
Inter’s defense looked shaky from time to time, but actually held up against Roma, who on the contrary did not look their best today. Seemed like creativity really went missing in the first half with Francesco Totti away and Miralem Pjanic on the bench. You could really see the difference as Pjanic stepped on the pitch in the middle of the second half. This meant that Inter could keep control over Roma’s attack and Rolando did a really good job keeping Gervinho in line. Notable is that the trio Rolando, Samuel and Juan Jesus has never lost a game together. Three wins and two draws so far. Maybe this is the key.
Overall, I’m happy with one point away against Roma, especially after Inter’s first half where the Nerazzurri dominated from time to time. Maybe we deserved more, maybe we should be grateful that Handanovic screw up at Destro’s goal that was taken away due to offside, maybe we should flip out and start flipping tables and throwing fits over the fact that Mehdi Benatia can force Mauro Icardi to lay little spoon with him in the penalty box without getting a penalty. In a court of law; law. On the football field, green light. I’m not going to get to hung up. I’m happy with today’s result and now I look forward to smashing Torino.
