According to the English portal ‘Talksport’ Inter have stolen a march on the competition for the signature of Sporting midfielder William Carvalho. Manchester United and Chelsea are believed to be two of the most interested parties but Inter’s insistence could see Erick Thohir and co tie up a deal before the transfer period even begins. The Nerazzurri had the player watched yet again in a recent game against Porto and are convinced of his qualities.

I don’t think there is a better player to be Cambiasso’s heir than Carvalho.

I’m not all too convinced if he is Inter-material. I must admit I haven’t seen him play in over a year, but I’m belgian and he played for Cercle Brugge in our league for almost two seasons. During this time he was benched more than he played.. And Cercle Brugge aren’t a top table team here, they fight relegation every year..
Since I first heard rumors about this player, I was think it would be a dream signing, because we need a DM and this guy seems like the real deal….. but then I read about his price tag 25 million (which could just be false, he shouldn;t be that expensive) and I kinda put it aside in my mind as another transfer that won’t happen.
But if we get him our midfield will improve. I love Cambiasso and he is the smartest player, but Carvalho cover A LOT more ground.
If he goes for Chelsea, they r just gonna loan and loan him… But will his price be a problem for us?

Inter should as well have been watching other transfer targets on the night with Porto having a few quality players that Inter have been linked to in the past, Striker Jackson Martinez, Defensive stalwart Fernando and winger Alex Sandro that would fix in nicely at the San Siro and in Mazzarris’s tactical system. William Carvalho and Fernando would make a pretty good defensive pair in the middle of the park for Inter for years to come.
