Walter Mazzarri spoke exclusively to Inter Channel ahead of tomorrow’s fixture against Udinese in the Serie A at the San Siro. Below you can read the Inter coach’ entire statement in English.

Looking at some statistics, we’ve found that you’re in first place in one category and last in another. The first is for the most times hitting the woodwork, while the second is for penalties in your favour…

“Joking aside, the amount of times we’ve hit the woodwork shows the team is playing well, however. For the sake of argument, as a coach I see it as something positive to be hitting the woodwork so much because it means we’re coming close to scoring. And clearly it’s indicative that we have to work very hard to get results. Despite playing well and creating a lot, perhaps we’re hitting the post so much when, with a few inches more to the inside, we’d have a goal. So all of this would then translate to points. As far as the other stat, I’ve said I’m not going to discuss it anymore.”

President Thohir reiterated in a very clear way that he is satisfied with Mazzarri and that you are planning your work?

“I have always said that there is great unity and great feeling. Also today I think I reiterated to him that we have to finish this year in a good way, to finish these 9 matches in a good way will help us to plan for next year in a better way. This is why I insist on not getting distracted with from current affairs because this could give us great strength in building an even better Inter for next year.”

Udinese isn’t only Di Natale…
“No, Udinese is – I have to repeat myself here – a respectable squad, a squad that away from home adopt a particular attitude. All their players have pace, great speed, they close down and use all the available spaces and therefore we have to play a perfect match, not to concede space, we have to counterattack and attack whilst being attentive and to be, we hope this time, a bit more lucid and a little bit luckier in our last decisions and when finishing in front of goal.”
