Massimo Moratti

Inter’s honorary president Massimo Moratti was interviewed today and had the following things to say.

What Inter did you see yesterday?

“A very unlucky one, maybe a bit slow but surely the team deserved to win.”

Mazzarri talks about 32 games without a penalty..

“It’s comical and it’s hard not to laugh when you talk about it. Something happens almost every weekend.”

Mazzarri has been angry earlier on in his career, could we talk about furiousity?

“No what furiousity? The same thing happened last year, from the game against Juventus to the end of the league. The statistics are absurd. I think the referees are afraid of giving a penalty after such long time, this stops them a lot since they want a clear situation to blow their whistle. If it isn’t clear as the sun they have problems giving us a penalty.”

Mazzarri is suffering a lot from this situation. We see him try a lot but how do you see the situation, is there a bit of tension?

“The players enter the field with the will to do well, Mazzarri charges them to the maximum. Then there are games were you don’t succeed in doing what you want. Yesterday Udinese stopped our game a lot, but it’s not a question about will or lazyness. If you manage to score, the game will open up.”

What do you think Thohir means when he says that everyone will be evaluated in the end?

“I don’t know, ask him.”

How much do you miss your role?

“I don’t miss it a lot, because I’m confident in the one who is in charge of it now. After a decision like this you don’t think a lot about it.”

Two points in two home games, isn’t it a bit worrying?

“Absolutely, but everyone has seen what has caused the point drops. I’m hoping that’s what has stopped us.”

Many names have been mentioned for Inter’s future. Does anyone make you extra hopeful? Are Torres and Dzeko perfect strikers?

“Absolutely, but just like you or a curva supporter could be hopeful. Everyone prefers different players, then the decision will be made by the club and I don’t what they will decide. We will discuss it but the decision won’t be mine. One thing is being present at the meetings, another things is taking the final decision. I can’t take the responsibility for hope.”

Are you on Mazzarri’s side?

“I think he is good.”
