Walter Mazzarri’s future is still being discussed even though Inter trashed Sampdoria last weekend. The points in the standings are the same as Andrea Stramaccioni had at this stage of the season last year(53points), the young coach also had 14 European games, a semifinal in the Coppa Italia and a huge ammount of injuries. Tuttosport reports that Erick Thohir will be back in Milano after easter to discuss a possible contract renewal with his coach. The scenario’s are easy to understand. It’s hard to sack the ongoing relation because Inter would have to pay Mazzarri 3.8 million euro’s for a year without him working for the club, and it’s also hard to keep a coach whose contract expires. This is why the coach could renew his contract until 2016 with the target to reach the Champions League next season. If this wouldn’t happen, Mazzarri would salute Inter.

I had been saying all last season not to fire Strama and everyone was saying fire him… now everyone’s begging for him to come back and I’m sitting here saying I told you so
let’s talk facts:
Inter had to play in the league, Coppa Italia and Europa league with an aging team. When the team was healthy at at their best Inter was 1 point behind 1st place. Injuries caused this team to collapse in the second half of the season.
Inter under Mazzarri made the team younger and acquired a player like Hernanes and Icardi and only play once a week and he is at the same points total as Strama.
No offence, does anyone see how pathetic that is? even if Inter qualifies for Europa league, can they handle the demands of playing twice a week ???
what a Big mistake it was to fire Strama,,,,,,,,,
yes absolutely agree with you mr. juve merda fans.. I also think that sacking strama was another big mistake
Choose boer is better option than to keep WM.
I like how you put it “Andrea Stramaccioni had at this stage of the season last year(53points)” You forgot to mention he only collected 54 points the whole season. With 54 points this season we would end up in 15th place. The league is a lot more competitive than last year.
I like how you count. With 54 points this season we would at worst end up in 13th place. Anything else is a mathematical impossibility at the moment. I’m certain that Mazzarri will get the point he needs to reach Stramaccioni’s total, and I hope he will pass it, but the fact that he won’t pass a rookie before (at best) the 34th round must be embarrassing for a coach who thinks so highly of himself.
wow you’re so great at math it seems. luckily you are not a coach. cause i couldn’t even imagine how bad that team will be for having a coach who only compares how good his team’s season is based on a points on the table
Lmao i like how you did the math there. I was just saying we would end up a lot lower than 9th. I didn’t think someone would get so technical about it. The facts are the facts Strama is terrible coach, we ended 9th. This year Serie A is a lot more competitive. We are going to finish in EL. That’s a good achivement with the squad we currently have.
with the current squad*
Pfft, Strama is a terrible coach? If he had his team in full condition he can do much better, how about Mazzarri, from what i read in his conference he always talk high and godly while never take the blame even a slightest bit to himself and choose to blame other things. Well, for someone who always talk high, and has full team on his hands, is he doing great? Nope. What else, blaming the league going more competitive? That sound like a reason to me, just like the coach usually do.
With the current squad even Stramaccioni would finish higher than last season. The current squad is clearly better than last years, the only exception is Cassano’s contribution.
The squad last year had Milito and other veteran players younger than they are now, even Cassano was there. This is a transition year for Inter. EL qualification is good achievement considering the squads limitations.
Its better losf 3.8 m right now, sign a coach that suits well with president vision,a coach that doesnt count to 11-12 players only,a coach that respect the experienced and admit youngster,i dont know what the good is if a coach blame certain players, luck,or any other things for bad results. Or maybe i’m wrong? Or i miss a characteristic coach,a coach that always support his players, stand in front of any terrible things, blame his own self for any good/bad…..or maybe this is just a dream?
Just rehire Strama and get it over and done with !!
Lets talk logical issues from economic base till achivements matters
Mazzarri is a great coach you can’t judge him untill you give the squad he can work with he favours players between the age 26 to 32 bad news we currently have many younger players and we will have even more youngsters after they will return from loans spell
Preparing a squad for Mazzarri requires between 70 to 90 millions € specially when he asks for costable players like Hamsik and Dzeko and Obi which means he don’t have place for Icardi and Kovacis and Taider and Botta in mind in this case its better to loan them out which means even more players must be loaned in if not bought
However if you paied Mazzarri 3 millions € and you get a coach who favours youngsters like De Boer you will save money by buying reasonable price youngsters and you can count on players like Mbaye and Duncin to be part of his project
I think its all up to Thohir to make his either a investing all the cash he can provid on WM or have faith in the young players and aply the english method he likes in the right way both ways I see a glorious Inter but if WM remains with no support I don’t we will be any different than this season
hahahaha. talking logical? stating the keeping mazzarri part with “will” as it will really gonna happen while stating the opposite with the word “if”. oh what a logical talk that was. so much logic in it that i couldn’t even stand to laugh. hahaha. and one more thing, thohir already stated he wants the team’s average age to be about 26 years old with maximum just 4 players above 30. then how many the so called youngsters could be in a team with only 4 old guards and average of middle 20? please do the math. or you may ask someone who posted several post above you who seems like a legitimate math expert
With mazzari, Inter is better. He can light the competition climate in inter training. It’s good for youngster to workhard.
if mazzari remains at inter next season and we fail to participate in ucl at the end of next season, we will even suffer a bigger loss; not only money but also the chance to be the champion at giuseppe meazza.
if he will renew and Inter will sack him next year ( if he will not get Inter to Ch.L.), they will have to pay more than 3,8 million
