In an exclusive interview with “FCInterNews”, on loan Inter keeper, Di Gennaro spoke about Inter and Citadella, as well his dreams for the future and his great form.

How do you rate the push Citadella is currently taking part in to achieve safety?

“Safety is our goal and reaching it without entering the playoff would be the best case for us. We are separated from Varese by a single point, but lately we have played well and that has given us a chance to fight until the end. The next five games will be like five finals but we believe.

You have maintained high level performances for the entire season and your name is now synonymous with quality and continuity. How do you feel about your season?

“I think I played a great season and I really hope that my saves can contribute to Citadella’s safety. As I said, there are still five finals, and personally, I want to continue working this way.”

Your growth is evident from the beginning of the season.

“I think I grew a lot, but this is my first year in a professional league and the road ahead is still very long.”

This season the name Bardi is on everyone’s lips. Do you feel ready to compete with him for the Inter shirt?

“There are so many strong goalkeepers, personally I want to prove myself on the pitch every day so that I may continue to improve more and more.”

As for your future, next season in particular, is there any chance of seeing you in the top flight?

“For now I want to consider the present. I only think of achieving safety with Citadella and improving myself everyday. The rest will come accordingly.”

When considering your dreams, what would you like to have most of all?

“Definitely my dream would be to play as a keeper for Inter. They are my favorite team and it is the club in which I grew up. Before I came to Citadella, I spent 10 years in Milan and this would be my dream.”

Concerning Inter, are you satisfied as a fan/player with the season and Mazzarri’s team?

“I see a tough team who is difficult to deal with for anyone. Personally I think the team is returning to the highest level and will definitely reach the current goal, namely qualification for the Champions League. With a keeper like Handanovic it will be all be easy.”

Is Samir one of the examples and models you follow?

“Currently Handanovic is one of the strongest and most complete goalkeepers in the world. Inter, from this point of view, has always had a tradition of strong keepers. Samir is definitely one of those.”
