And then there were two: After searching the transfer market for a striker it seems that the choice is down to either Fernando Torres or Erik Lamela, this according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The pursuit of Alvaro Morata and Edin Dzeko becomes harder by the day but there are other factors involved. Does Mazzarri want a box striker such as Torres or a second forward with the characteristics of Lamela? Much will depend on the mercato summit between Mazzarri and the club at the seasons end. Torres would need convincing on a move to Italy and Lamela’s wages could also prove problematic. Tottenham are not ready to give up on their large investment so they may welcome a loan to relaunch the young Argentines career before deciding whether to sell him or not.

A realistic mercato based on the rumors:
1. Vidic (free)
2. Erkan (free)
3. Torres (loan, part salary paid by Chelsea)
4. Nilton (5 mill)
5. Ince (low cost)
6. Lamela (loan with buy option)
7. Mikel (I don’t like him but looks likely)
That’s defense, wings, midfield, and attack reinforcements
Sell one or two of: Alvarez, Guarin, or Rano
We need them both
Play Icardi as a box striker with lamela behind him.
As inter bought Hernanes for 20million, there is enough room for just one Attacker. This is due to inter needing a Striker,Defensive midfielder and a Full/wing back. If we get one of each and inter had more money to spend i would not doubt thohir for not getting another forward like lamela (as the main issue here is getting another striker[dzeko] not a potentially second striker [lamela])
icardi is inters future and this both lamela and torres wil be excelent
If we could get both od them would be excellent .. Big Lamela & Torres fan ..
Damn i want dzeko
Tottenham will have no interest in a loan whatsoever, all it does is run down a contract and reduce a players value. The longer the contract the more expensive a player is. There is no benefit to Spurs to loan him out at all.
Lamela <3
Lamela on loan with option to buy next summer and a cheap Torres would both be great investments – but let´s not forget Icardi!
