Corriere dello Sport discusses the targets Walter Mazzarri has been set by Erick Thohir. The president of Inter has realise that you can’t win a scudetto with young people across the team. For example Juventus play with just Paul Pogba and Roma do not focus on young players. In light of this Thohir is asking Mazzarri for Champions League qualification rather than a challenge for the title. This is similar to the Arsenal model that the Indonesian tycoon spoke of when he arrived at Inter.

I think United have the best management of the entire football. They know how to spend well, we can see some of their academy player on the first team & the most important is, winning the title in almost regular basis.

I think the point is not about Mazzari. Maybe this is a sugar coated statement that Thohir didnt want to spend big money in the transfer.

Good work Thohir – you finally realize that Inter can’t compete for the scudetto especially since in 3 years time Juve will smash another Serie A record for most consecutive scudettos. If your predecessor realized this years ago maybe inter would be in better shape today !!!

I think it is the right thing to do. Maybe go three seasons wih CL as goal and build a base from which to be great again. Inter cannot match it financially wth the big guns so need to be smarter.
