Another Inter season is in the books and it’s now time for you to vote for the player who in your opinion has stood out for the Nerazzurri across this turbulent campaign. In patches the likes of Mauro Icardi, Ricky Alvarez and Mateo Kovacic have been Inter’s top performers but the four men we have selected represent the backbone of Inter’s 2013/14 Serie A season.

Samir Handanovic – The Slovenian shot stopper was a constant presence once again for the Nerazzurri. Despite suffering some difficult moments the level which Handanovic raised his game to in the second half of the season confirmed our opinion that he is one of the world’s best. Inter had the 3rd best defence in the division and kept 15 clean sheets. Handanovic also regained his confidence when facing penalty kicks and ended the campaign by playing his best football since joining the club.

Rolando – Without doubt the Nerazzurri’s signing of the season. Having arrived on a loan from Porto with low expectations, the Portuguese international quickly became an ever present in Walter Mazzarri’s starting XI. 3rd on the team in both Interceptions and tackles, the former Napoli man even chipped in with 4 goals. Add to this his impressive pass completion percentage and here you have the most consistent defender in Inter’s squad.

Esteban Cambiasso – With the extra responsibility of covering for injured captain Javier Zanetti this was nothing short of a stellar season for ‘Cuchu’. Often used as the linchpin in Mazzarri’s midfield he did everything to give Inter the balance and shape to be a successful side. Second on the team in average tackles per game Cambiasso was an inspiration in both defence and attack often ploughing forward when given the chance. If it was to be his last year in Black and Blue it certainly was one of his best.

Rodrigo Palacio – Lead the team in goals and appearances, second in assists and for the first half of the campaign took the fight to opposition defences almost single handedly. Until Mauro Icardi appeared on the scene Palacio was asked to play as Inter’s lone striker on many occasions, he worked tirelessly for the cause and if he hadn’t received a harsh booking against Lazio we’d be talking about him as an ever present through the entire Serie A season.

So those are the nominees, cast your vote below and look out for the ‘Goal of the season’ award which will be arriving on site shortly. Thanks again for your support. Sempre Forza Inter!
