Argentinian newsoutlet La Prensa reports that Inter’s trio of Argentinian World Cup players will start yet another FIFA World Cup match on the bench.
La Prensa draws this conclusion based on yesterday’s training session where Ricky Alvarez, Rodrigo Palacio and Hugo Campagnaro all played in the reserve team during a mini-match ahead of today’s second round World Cup fixture between Argentina and Switzerland.
Another interesting fact is that Ricky was used in a position in midfield just behind Gago and Mascherano, which is how Swiss coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has deployed Xerdan Shaqiri, behind Behrami and Inler. La Prensa argues that the reson Sabella did this was to prepare his team in the best way for the Swiss threat posed by Shaqiri who scored a hattrick in the last group stage fixture against Honduras.
