Legendary Italian coach Giovanni Trapattoni has revealed that he will take over the Ivory Coast hotseat after Sabri Lamouchi resigned following the country’s groupstage elimination in the FIFA World Cup.

The former Inter and Italy national team coach removed all doubts on a popular phone-in radio show in Italy yesterday: “The whole thing will be concluded within 15 days. I also had the chance to go to Morocco, I thought about my choices for 48 hours and in the end I made a decision.”

Finally Trapattoni was asked about wether or not he would call up Didier Drogba to his side to which he simply replied: “He is a great player.”
