Transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio this morning reports that Monaco could be close to acquiring Benfica wideman Nicolas Gaitan. Fresh from receiving €80 million from Real Madrid for the services of James, Benfica and Monaco are believed to be close to an agreement. If the two clubs can close the deal it’s unlikely Monaco would continue in their pursuit of Inter’s Fredy Guarin. There had been contacts for Guarin but if Gaitan is secured it’s unlikely the Colombian will move to the principality anytime soon.

theoretically, Guarin could be very useful to us on the right…but we’ve seen time and time again that he and Jonathan cannot exist together. I’m certainly not saying that is all Guarin’s fault, but every time they play together it looks like they just met five minutes ago…
No one wants our players, that says alot.
why does that exclude the signing of Guarin? he plays in the middle while Gaitan is a winger
Actually Gaitwn can occupy the no 10 position too. He’s so like dimaria it’s untrue. Just a lot cheaper. Decent replacement for James though I still wish they also took isco off madrid
