Transfermarket expert Alfredo Pedullá reports on his homepage about Ibrahima Mbaye’s future, which has been the subject of a lot of speculation recently.
“A total agreement has been found regarding the extension of Ibrahima Mbaye’s contract. It has been extended with 1 year from 2016 to 2017 with a hefty wage increase. It’s not a huge extension with regards to the number of years, however, it’s enough for Inter to postpone the deadline of his contract expiration date as it would have been too risky to allow the young defender’s contract to expire in 2016. Tomorrow or the day after everything will be decided.”
“Soon afterwards, as was expected yesterday morning, Mbaye will sign for Genoa. The deal taking him there is very clear: a loan with an option to buy and with a counteroption for Inter to buy him back for a set fee” Pedullá concludes.

Now that co-ownership has been abolished the clubs will find new ways tho make complicated deals! Loan with option to but with option to buy back… it’s actually a good idea. Genoa have more incentive to develop and play him because they know they can purchase. Inter always have the option to buy back if he does really well, in which case Genoa make a small profit as reward for helping his development. Even so I really think M’Baye is first team as soon as next season and I’d rather see a pure loan.
