Esteemed French sportspaper, France Football, reports that AS Monaco have set their sights on former Inter-player Wesley Sneijder to replace James Rodriguez who left for Champions League winners Real Madrid.
The Dutchman, who currently plays for Turkish giants Galatasaray, is considered by Monaco to be the ideal replacement for the Colombian who was arguably the best player during this summer’s FIFA World Cup. Should the club fail to sign the Ducthman, they have their sights set on Bayern Munich’s Swiss magician Xherdan Shaqiri who has been linked with a host of European top clubs this summer, according to France Football.
