Benfica’s new signing, Julio César, spoke to the Portuguese clubs official homepage moments after his transfer from MLS Club Toronto was made official.

“I am very excited. It’s like starting a new career, I’m ready and I don’t lack the will either. I’ve played in Brazil, England and Italy, I lacked an experience in Portugal and Benfica is the right club; now I hope to be able to live up to the expectations.”

“If I had thought it would be impossible to become the best goalkeeper in the UEFA zone, I would never have come here. I want to win everything that I have already won and Benfica gives me this opportunity. I hope to be able to repeat what I’ve already done and, why not, to be a goalkeeper who is even better than the one who played for Inter” the former Inter shot-stopper concluded.
