Today we played an unknown team, so it was like pre-season practice again.
Boy, Mateo sure found his feet today. I think if Mazz plans to play the 3-5-1-1, he should strongly consider using Mateo behind Icardi. Imagine:

If Osvaldo keeps playing like today he will make lots of mess in opposition’s defense… that back heal pass to Mateo opened everything for him to score.
Pure quality this inter, as long as mazzari the dictator doesn’t make them nervous we will see a good run from inter.

Let me review what I’ve seen in today’s match:
1. MOTM? definitely Kovacic. He was untouchable tonight. I think WM has already found the best position for him, which is AM who focus on penetrating from the second line.
2. M’villa and Hernanes played good combination in providing killer pass and dictate the tempo. This year we have more balance in the midfield. Obi and Kuz can be a decent backup for them.
3. Left flank (Yuto) was amazing. He kept running and crossing from the left flank although he is not left footed but he did great job with two assists. With Dodo and Yuto, Inter are very deadly on the left side this year.
4. Right flanks (D’ambrosio & Johnny) were so-so. Although Johnny made an assist but he looked so tired, overweight and slow. If we could sign Biabiany, maybe the right flanks would be much responsive in penetrating from the right side.
5. Osvaldo proved that he can be a good backup for Palacio, maybe he is better in some points like in body charging and heading. Icardi, no doubt a real bomber who will terrorize Serie-A this year. If he can stay fit, definitely he will be able to score more than 20 goals this year.
6. Defenders were not working too hard because Stjarnan’s attackers were completely isolated and unskillful. We’ll see what will happen in the next match against Torino.
7. What should Inter do now? Complete the mercato as soon as possible by offloading outgoing players (Silvestre, Ricky & Guaro) and bring in Biabiany/Bonaventura and Rolando. In January, Either Lavezzi, Firmino or another big name will come for sure. Forza and grande Inter!

The team overall had a solid performance but I still see a weak spot on the right side. Jonathan should be sold and D’ Ambrosio should be a tactical sub since both kill the game with their movements
Dodo can be a difference maker on the left and Naga will be moved to the right if Mazzari forgets hos love relationship with Jonathan.

although Icardi scored 2 goals, he should started thinking about his spot in the starting line up.
Osvaldo make a lot better movement, he opened space for the other while still maintaining threat as a striker.
he can hold and accept ball better.
and he can pass that ball too.
Icardi’s advantage is only his instinct. he should move better and improve his ‘intelligent play’.
100% agree here. with Osvaldo on the field our link up play in the final 3rd is miles better than with him off the pitch. but with icardi’s instincts one needle threading passes will equal a goal. i think mazzari should find away to play both with kovacic supporting. like a 4-3-3 or even 3-4-3 type of Formation.
