There is a debate raging in Croatia after recent performances from Niko Kovac’s squad. The coach is being put on trail for decisions made in the game vs. Malta. One of these decisions is related to Kovacic and using him in a position not suited to his characteristics. At the end of the game the player appeared unhappy and did not want to speak to the media.

Kovacis is very talanted in term of deliver easy passes to both right and left wings Kovac should’ve used him for this objective because his team is really unstopable in acurate crosses since he is not giving Kovacis his full trust to do his magic under strikers like what is done at Inter
my hopes for the future is on Medel and icardi not on this kid that hasn’t show me anything.
Medel? Seriously? The 27 year old player who should be in his prime, but is useless in any offensive capacity.
I agree that the rose-coloured glasses Inter fans desperately overrate Kovacic (perhaps because we have a depressing dearth of elite young talent), but to say that Medel is such a player is simply nonsense.
M’Villa at 24 (and already a significantly more complete player) would be a more suitable choice.

You must be from Chile. Give me a break. Medel is a good player and he had a great world cup. But, you can’t forget that he had a bad season last year. Plus, he totally lacks in the attacking department. You can’t build a team on a defensive player. You need a playmaker, that is why everybody is putting their hopes in Kovacic. I would put my hopes in MVilla before Medel any day. Regarding Kovacic, he is very young and mature and he has one of the highest Futbol IQ you can find out there. That’s why he is special.
it is sad that Niko Kovac doesnt take the kid seriously, in Inter he is got a much better stauts than in Croaita squad.. maybe we just love Kovacic to much, and we are objective.. but i have watch two games of Croatia and every time Kovacic inspired me.. but seems KOvac is not give the right place for our super kid, whi instrest showed even big Barcelona.. heh shit trainer is Kovac by me..

He was playing on the left wing. I didn’t watch the match, but I saw that he was substituted at halftime. So makes sense that he was not happy.
Where was he played anyway? In goal? 😛
