A visibly pleased Walter Mazzarri spoke with Sky Sports minutes after Inter destroyed Sassuolo 7-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.
“My hand is better but if it continues to go like this I’ll break the other one too [smiles]. Last year we played with two strikers as well as Hernanes and Kovacic. We need to have our two midfielders to put pressure very early besides from being great when retaining posession of the ball. This is the football that I like: aggressive and to win the ball from the opponents high up in the pitch. The ideal football.”
“Our objectives? We want to always keep this attitude and not allow our opponents to play their game and then hurt them by playing fast. We have this in our DNA, we need to continue like this.”
Mazzarri was then asked to comment on individual performances to which he replied: “Kovacic is a fantastic player who has only recently started to help out in the defensive phase and he does this really well with his national team. Today he scored a goal going into the penalty area without waiting for the goal.”
“For example Medel was fantastic today, you need someone like him in order to play this type of football. The full-backs were also great today, almost like two wingers. We’re a young team, today we played with 4 very young players. Even against the big teams, if everyone performs on this level we can play like we did today. These players are so motivated that it’s easy to coach them, they want to do well and improve. I see the rigth spirit in the group and I’m happy” Mazzarri concludes.

When things go right with Inter WM doesn’t usually get much credit. But when things go as phenomenal as they did today, If we all cannot recognize the crucial role that WM has on the hunger, fitness and overall determination of this squad then shame on us. He is a great coach who finally has some great players to work with. I am confident to say that win draw or lose each week, I know our boys with be ready to fight and will have been trained meticulously and motivated to fight till the dying whistle. What more do you want from our coach? With all the shit talking against WM, look at the players on the scoreboard: Icardi, Kovacic (our young talent), and Osvaldo (WM target transfer). Mbaye is the first guy he subs in, Guaro comes in for immediate impact and showing his value to the team, coach fans. Solid defensively, switching from back 3 to 4 during game. Effective play by wing players. A tenacious Gary Medel who literally doesn’t let up for a single second. My point is that this team is coming together and all the signs are there. Now Lets keep on winning!!
Well, because its “only” sassuolo even though the score are marvelous, same story last season right? What’s the final result? Only a couple points better than Strama’s half team. If we can win against juve, whatever the score is, then that would be unfair if we didn’t praise him. Let’s see if the performance keep on going like this. And “if” there’s any bad result, let’s see too how Mazzarri will handle the situation.
