Freddy Guarin accompanied coach Walter Mazzarri today to their Europa League press conference. The player was asked if he considers this a new beginning at Inter. Freddy said: “The Sassuolo win was very important for me and the team. It’s the start of something new.”
Guarin then spoke about how it felt to receive the support of the fans at the San Siro: “I could really sense the fans’ support for me on Sunday, it was a great feeling. But now we have to focus on Dnipro and on producing the goods again.”
When asked about playing behind the striker, Guarin said: “It gives me the chance to set up my team-mates and get into scoring positions. I like playing behind the strikers.”

He has the characteristics to be a forward in the mold of hulk…. we realized he will never be tidy defensively so thats the best place to play him…. that way he not a liability and can actually make defenders work hard. He has to improve his heading to be a complete striker!

Guarin’s assets are power and acceleration. His defensive and holding abilities are poor. This position suits him. He will be on the field against substandard opponents. Score some goald Freddie.

I’ve always like Fredy, sometimes he was too selfish with his long shots and maybe not the best attitude sometimes, but I like him as a player and I don’t regret that he stayed.
