Inter is often viewed as a defensive team that respects opponents and tries to hit them on the counter attack, but the numbers indicate something different. In all three games so far this season Inter have averaged 56% possession, second only to Juve. There is another statistic that exemplifies Inter’s desire to attack is the direction of their passing. Of the total passes Inter has made this season 65% of completed passes have been forward and only 35% backward.

Possession stats are always misleading. Barcelona can sometimes have 70 percent possession but only muster 5 shots. Against Palermo we didnt play on the counter or put much possession pressure on Palermo.
