Sardinian side Cagliari arrived at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza today with only one point so far this Serie A-campaign. A score board that is not a fair reflection of Cagliari as a team, especially with players like Marco Sau in the team, who has always been a very good player in my eyes. But, Marco Sau is not Messi, Victor Ibarbo is not Cristiano Ronaldo, and Albin Ekdal is most certainly not our lord Jesus Christ…So why the hell does the result look like we walked into the German National team with David Luiz as our top guy in defense?

I can tell you why. It’s not because of the team that is Cagliari, please. It’s not because of bad luck or because of unfair calls from the referee. We have no excuses. Today’s defeat is our own fault. Everywhere and everyone from attack to defense to goalkeeper to coaching-team to the leaderboard. I’m sorry to be the one to complain and moan about quality. But I’ve pretty much had it. Our Captain of this afternoon, which is bad enough, Yuto Nagatomo is not good enough. If you want to be a team aspiring to reach the Champions League, Nagatomo can’t be a part of that team. The reason is simple; he is not good enough. His cross-balls makes me want to lie down in my shower in fetal position and cry and that’s not even mentioning his game in defense which is nothing but a hazard for the whole team. But this was also the day that every single player chose to leave their ball-sack at home. We can spend all night blaming individual players, but it does not serve a purpose. We can blame every single one. It does not serve a purpose.

What really burns me up is to see the poor performances from Nemanja Vidic, game after game after game. I’ve had dreams of seeing Vidic in the Inter-shirt since way back and now that it all becomes reality, it stands clear that this might not be the kind of boost to the team as we had hoped for. Yet, I don’t want to point fingers towards Vidic just yet. The defense has looked pretty much the same under Walter Mazzarri since his first day, wheter it’s Vidic, Samuel, Campagnaro, Rolando or Ranocchia playing. It’s not good enough and I’ll stick my chin out. I blame Mazzarri, a coach who can’t organize a defensive line with pretty much the same players in two years, something is not right. My faith in Mazzarri has never been the largest and seeing this kind of meltdowns happening every now and then, does not increase the feeling of peace. We’ve not lost like this with four goals since 1960 and that was against AC Milan. This is unacceptable.

Maybe the team deserves this kind of failure and the humiliation. With this sort of effort from the team, I’m sure they do. But we, the fans, does not deserve this. Our love is the payment for the players to respect the shirt with pride and to stand up for what Inter is. Today you have disrespected us. Take the shirts off.
