Mauro Icardi scored a late goal for Inter who beat Qarabag with 2-0. The Argentinian was interviewed by Mediaset after the game and had the following things to say:
“We wanted the victory and it came after a tough loss against Cagliari. We had to start over again and we managed to do so, what we said to eachother remains in the locker room. The feeling with Osvaldo? He tried to pass me straight away and did so many times but the defenders managed to clear at times. He gave me a great pass and I scored from it, then I tried to give him an assist but I was tired and hit the ball bad. Maybe at Firenze? Lets hope so!”

I was a little worried to see Osvaldo react to his teammates today on some of the balls they passed (or failed to do so) to him. I hope his temperament doesn’t surface again, he’s been doing a terrific job.
There was lots of room for criticism, though, since some of the plays that the guys had today were awful, and we were pretty much dead all game long. I guess it’s what follows a terrible defeat such as the one we had against Cagliari, takes some time to build up confidence again.
It was a risky move but Osvaldo is turning out to be a great signing. He’s quick, aggressive, and can not only score, but also has a great pass and closes down opponents very cleverly. A more complete player than Icardi, although no one can deny Mauro’s finishing skills.
LETS HOPE SO
