During a short visit to Rome a few days ago, Erick Thohir did an interview with the local TV channel RomaUno, discussing a rather unexpected topic: food. The Inter president visited an exhibition dedicated to Indonesian cuisine which is being constructed in Rome and he shared a few words regarding his culinary preferences. Here is what he had to say:
Do you prefer Italian or Indonesian cuisine?
“Indonesia is number one, Italy number two”, he answered laughing.
Which are your favourite Italian dishes?
“Sea bass is nice, and pasta as well. I also like ragout with bottarga”.
Should Italians get to know the Indonesian kitchen better?
” Our food has more taste, because we use a lot of spices. We also eat a lot of noodles, our own version of pasta”.
When you are in Italy, do you only eat Italian food or Indonesian as well?
“I only eat Italian food, because I haven’t yet found any Indonesian restaurants in Milan or Rome”.

Zaffran ftw… most 3xpensive spice in the world. Biggest producer is siavash’s home land
I like indonesian food but my stomach prefers italian. Either way its like comparing apples and oranges! Italians barely use any spice… they tend to use the plants itself…. basil, peppers etc. Like comparing a striker and a goalkeeper… two completely differents things within the same field 😀
If you stay more than two month at Indonesia, I am sure your stomach will get use to it.
stop eating, buy new players!
Taste and spices are two different things…
sure they are two different things.. indonesian food got more spice than italians, it taste so sexy.. you should try
