Gazzetta dello Sport takes a look at Mateo Kovacic’s season so far. After appearing sparingly during last season the player (at just 20 years old) has shown some progress. Scoring his first goals (against Palermo and Sassuolo) and logging an assist. However the season has been filled with as many lows as highs. He was poor against Torino, Cagliari and then Fiorentina on Sunday. The next step for the Croatian international according to the newspaper is to find consistency within his game. He has the time to do that at just 20 and if he does he’ll be one of the most wanted footballers on the planet.

no singol player can make big things by himself in a team that is not working at all …
being clueless , pointing at your team mates to move and yet they dont move , shows that he can’t force a tactic , it depends on mazzari wether he focuses on kovacic as solo playmaker so he falls back and let hernanes or guarin move ahead or kovacic plays as attacking midfielder that manitains a postion high upfront on the pitch which mazzari doesn’t like to see kovacic do as he prefers to use all midfield to defend and so when INTER attack they feel lost cause rearranging or acounter attacking requires fast players and we dont have them apart from few nor we know to how to do it…. kovacic shines when used upfront behind the attackers without high defensive demands…
Not his fault tho, our whole team dissapeared against Cagliari and Fiorentina.
