The first guest at Inter Channel after the match between Inter and Napoli was Joel Obi, who played from the first minute tonight: “We worked a lot this week, I had to be ready in case Yuto were to miss the game. I made sure I felt prepared to play the game as I have done in the past, this is not a problem for me. We worked hard for two weeks, even when the others were on international break, I was supposed to mark Britos and Ranocchia was to mark Insigne. Today we really need to thank our supporters who were with us until the very end, we reacted to this and wanted to take all three points. A few times I forgot to stay wide on the pitch, but I tried to do the best I could with the help of my team mates. It is always important to be prepared, to be available to the team and give a hundred percent. To play in different positions is not a proble for me. When I am on the pitch I will always give it all I’ve got”.

Well done mate
I have said many times before that he should be given the chance to play as a left wing back, because of his speed, him being “Sir-Run-Alot”, and he always gives 100P on the pitch – his crossings are okay on the left – so hopefully Mazza too sees him as a valid backup for Dodo!
It is true that his offensive ability is weak. However, Obi pevents the opposition from running all over Inter. Let’s face it, an ugly victory is a victory. Compare with Juve’s Lichsteiner. The ball is always at his feet , but he is lousy crosser and shooter. He starts because he impedes the opposition. Inter needs to grind.
I will take Lichsteiner over Naga and Johnny any day of the week !
i don’t think his crossing can be considered as okay. but he runs a lot and can give much pressure to anybody he faced. so depend on our opponent and if we do want to takeout opponent’s winger as he did with insigne and britos yesterday, he might be a decent option on that position
but he cannot make a decent cross..
we relied heavily on left wing from dodo
he is good if we want to make the opponent’s winger uncomfortable. but he provide nothing on offensive phase. if he really wanna be placed on that right wingback role for some time to come, not just for this game, then he should train his right foot more instead of always using his left foot
hmm.. he’s a lefty and we’ve got shit-loads of right footed right backs; Naga, Johnny, D’Ambrosio and even Mbaya, but only one lefty – Dodo! So he’s gonna be very useful as a left wingback!
Obi’s uncomfortable right foot produced as much clear crosses as Nagatomo and Jonathan usually do, next to none. I would be happy if we sold them and relied on D’Ambrosio and M’Baye on that position until we get someone better. Obi would be good on the left.
and then we’ll have none adequate right wingback. this has been problem even since maicon’s last year here. dodo wasn’t very good at defending but he is still so young that he can improve and learn much about how to defend. maicon used to be like that, so good at attacking but lack much at defending. but back then there was jz who helped him out. and this is what i’m asking on previous mercato, where is the right wingback? it’s so frustating knowing that someone like jonathan was our best right wingback
A tenacious player. He tackles well. Good speed. He will take someones job.
Jonnys and nagamidget
hahahahahahah
he was better than naga and danilo
He needs to play more often, he’s fast and actually productive on the ball
